Credits are the mssgs currency. You buy them once, in packs from €10.00 for 5,000 credits to €120.00 for 75,000, and they stay on your account for as long as it exists. You spend them on Premium (8,500 credits a month), gifts to friends and to posts you like, paid community memberships, supporting a server, donations to livestreamers and extra bot accounts. Badges pay out credits too. Payment runs through Stripe, prices include VAT, nothing is a subscription and mssgs has no ads.

Earn credits without buying them

Credits also come to you for using mssgs. Your balance is always in the app, under Settings → Credits.

    Every achievement badge in Settings → Badges pays out credits when you unlock it.

  • Redeem a code

    Got a gift or promo code? Redeem it in Settings → Credits.

  • Gifts from others

    Friends can gift you credits, and a good post in the feed can earn you some.

Badges are earned by what you do with credits, not by how many you bought. They sit on your profile and are revealed the moment you unlock one.

Why credits exist

Running mssgs costs real money every day. Credits are how that money comes in, and they are the only way it comes in. Nothing else about the app is for sale.

They pay for what mssgs runs on

Servers in the European Union, storage for everything you send, bandwidth for every call and every stream, and the people who build it and keep it running.

So advertising never has to

An app paid for by advertising has to sell your attention, and the data that makes it worth selling. Because credits pay the bill, we never have to. No ads, no trackers, nothing passed on.

And only if you want to

mssgs is free to use and stays that way. Credits are for people who want to unlock something extra or support a community, never a toll on chatting.

How buying works

    Sign in to mssgs if you have not yet, then pay in the secure Stripe form right here.

  3. Spend them straight away

    The credits land on your account at once, in every mssgs app you are signed in to.

Questions about credits

Do credits expire?

No. Credits stay on your account for as long as your account exists.

Is this a subscription?

No. A pack is a one-off payment, and Premium bought with credits does not renew by itself either.

Can I get a refund?

Credits you have not spent yet can be refunded on request within 14 days of buying them: write to support@mss.gs from the email address on your account. Spent credits cannot be refunded. Bought in the iPhone or Android app? Then Apple's or Google's refund rules apply.

Can I exchange credits for money?

No. Credits are not money: they have no cash value and cannot be moved outside mssgs.

Which account gets the credits?

The account you are signed in with on this page. They show up in every mssgs app where you use that account.

How do I pay?

Through Stripe, by card or another method Stripe offers you. Prices are in euros and include VAT. mssgs never sees your card details.

What does Premium cost?

8,500 credits for a month, or 90,000 for a whole year. See Premium for what it adds.

I am under 18. Can I buy credits?

Only with permission from a parent or guardian.
