What your team sees in the mssgs desktop app: the call, the latest chat and clip mode, over Petalwar.

Create your Petalwar community

Pick a name for your team, clan or alliance. We hold it for 24 hours while you open mssgs.

Sunhearth Union
At least 3 characters.

Free, no card needed. You finish up in the app or in your browser.

Built for commanders

Everything your team needs, in one place

A community on mssgs is a server of your own: text and voice channels in categories, roles for your ranks and invites you control.

Voice for every team

A voice channel per team. On the desktop, hold a key or a side mouse button to talk, with noise suppression that filters out your keyboard.

Your call over the game

The desktop app shows who is in the call, who is speaking and the latest chat on top of Petalwar, so nobody alt-tabs mid-match.

Join now from mssgs

Connect Petalwar under Options → MSSGS and your friends see Playing Petalwar under your name. Host a match and they get Join now, straight into your lobby.

Clip the play

Clip mode keeps the last stretch of your screen, so one key saves the push that broke their petals.

Ranks as roles

User groups with a name and a colour for recruits, veterans and commanders, each with its own permissions.

Match nights

Plan an event and everyone answers Going, Maybe or Can’t. Pin the house rules where everyone sees them.

Recruit on your terms

Invite links and QR codes with an expiry and a usage limit, or open the doors to everyone. VPN forbidden refuses VPN, proxy and Tor.

News in a channel

Webhooks post updates from other services straight into a channel, and slash commands do what your community decides.

No ads, no tracking

Servers in the Netherlands, one-to-one chats end-to-end encrypted, and nothing you write is used to train AI.

About Petalwar

Petalwar is a real-time strategy game in the spirit of Supreme Commander. Three factions fight over one valley, and every base grows around a Heartbloom that five petals ward from harm. It is in development, and the early builds for Mac and Windows are on petalwar.com; Linux follows.

Everything about the game

Petalwar and mssgs are both made by Deverence Group B.V. in the Netherlands. Petalwar communities on mssgs are made by players, for players.

Questions from commanders

Is mssgs free for a clan?

Yes. A community with text and voice channels, roles and invites costs nothing, and neither does the game overlay. Premium is optional: it raises the upload limit from 25 MB to 50 MB and messages from 2,000 to 5,000 characters, among other things.

How do my friends see that I am playing?

In Petalwar, open Options → MSSGS and press CONNECT, then allow it in mssgs. From then on your friends see Playing Petalwar under your name, with the map and your faction. Petalwar can only set that status: it reads nothing and cannot post as you.

How does Join now work?

When you host a match, friends who have connected Petalwar too see Join now under your name. One press takes them into your lobby, on the same Wi-Fi or across the internet through petalwar.com. A full match shows no Join now.

Can friends join without installing anything?

Into the community, yes: mssgs runs in the browser as well as on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows and Linux, so an invite link works for everyone. The game overlay, clip mode and Join now are part of the desktop app.

Where do I get Petalwar?

On petalwar.com: the early builds for Mac and Windows are there, and Linux follows. The game offers a newer version on its title screen when there is one.
