With a free account

Start Memory in your browser

mssgs runs right in your browser, nothing to install. With a free account you start games from your chats and play them with your friends there.

  1. Create your free account

    Open mssgs in your browser and sign up with a username and your email address.

  2. Click the game controller

    It sits in the strip on the far left and says Play a game when you point at it. On a phone it shows on the home screen; from inside a chat, swipe in from the left edge.

  3. Choose Memory

    Your room opens straight away, with a 6-character room code.

  4. Bring in a friend

    Press Guest link in the room and send the link: your friend plays straight in their browser, no account needed, and the link works once. Friends already on mssgs can join with the room code under Join with a code, or you press Invite.

  5. Start playing

    As soon as your friend is in, you both press Ready and the game begins.

How it works

Two cards a turn

On your turn you flip two cards and everybody sees both faces. That is the whole trick: your misses are free information for your opponent.

A pair keeps the turn

Two matching faces are yours, they stay open, and you immediately flip again. Streaks decide these games.

A miss hands it over

Two different faces flip back down after a moment and the turn passes. Remembering where they went is the whole game.

Most pairs wins

The match ends when the board is empty. Equal scores are a draw. The host picks 4×4 (8 pairs), 6×6 (18) or 8×8 (32) before the start.

Every game comes with

Invites in the chatStart a game in any conversation and the invite lands as a card. Your group joins with one tap or a 6-character room code.
Turn alertsMinimize the game to a floating pill that tells you when it is your turn, so the chat keeps going.
Rematch and spectatePlay again or switch to another game in the same room, while friends watch along live.
Bragging rightsWhen it ends, a result card with the final board drops right back into the chat.
