Slash Commands
Type / for quick commands and fun emoticons - plus powerful bot triggers in communities.
Two kinds of slash commands live in mssgs. On desktop, typing / in the input bar opens the quick-commands picker with the fun classics below. And in communities and bot DMs, / brings up triggers: custom commands that call a webhook.
Quick commands (fun, desktop)
| Command | Result |
|---|---|
/shrug | ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |
/tableflip | (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ |
/unflip | ┬─┬ ノ( ゜-゜ノ) |
/lenny | ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) |
Triggers (powerful)
Communities can define their own slash commands - triggers - that call a webhook and post the result: think /standup, /deploy or /weather. Bot accounts can ship triggers too, which makes them available in your DM with that bot. Building triggers is covered in the API documentation.
