Hold the microphone button in the input bar.

Talk. You'll see the recording timer run.

Release to send - or slide away to cancel.
Voice memos arrive with a proper inline player, so the other side can pause and scrub. On desktop, received audio even gets a floating music-player bar.
Need real-time? DMs also have full voice & video calls - tap the phone or camera icon in the chat header. Desktop calls include screen sharing.
